Based on the post-natal unit at Wollongong Hospital (WH), the CMS2 Lactation Support role will support staff in the maternity and neonatal nursery departments with planning and implementing breastfeeding care for inpatients within their scope of practice. They will consult inpatients with complex lactation support needs and develop feeding plans in consultation with the woman. The role will also be expected to provide lactation support and consultation for patients having care in other wards and areas of the hospital as appropriate. The CMS2 will develop a regular schedule of inpatient breastfeeding education to improve patient knowledge and autonomy with breastfeeding skills.
This is a permanent full time position however job share may be considered.
