GoSourcing Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to join our Canberra based Federal Gov't client.

- Extension term no greater than 24 months in total.

- Working arrangements Hybrid.The primary office is in Canberra however working remotely from an alternate location (including work from home) or flexible work arrangements may be considered. Any approval is at the sole discretion of the Buyer. All required travel to and from location will be at the Seller’s expense unless previously agreed.
- Security clearance Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1
About the Client
Technology is a critical enabler of the Department’s operational and corporate services to ensure that we achieve our purpose. We use technology to assist frontline policing and protective services through direct tactical interventions in investigations, and to strategically maintain, sustain and evolve our foundational technology platforms and architecture. We are continuing to develop this capability by:
- modernising the technology foundations and applications, and increasing the cyber-security position of the organisation
- evolving our internal processes to navigate the development and deployment of emerging technologies
- continuing to mature our use of technology across the 6 strategic shifts outlined in our Technology Strategy 2025
- enhancing our collaboration with academic institutions, police forces and the technology sector to understand technological challenges and opportunities to strengthen law enforcement capabilities.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated AFP personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Accountable for providing leadership and direction to ensure a high-level of integration and consistency across the business analysis function.
- Manage the design and execution of business process tests, usability evaluations, networks and business trials, confidence tests.
- Responsible for business analysis within a significant segment of an organisation where the advice given, and decisions made will have a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the organisation.
- Advise stakeholders and colleagues on the choice of techniques, tools and processes required for modelling and analysis activities and tasks.
- Draw upon knowledge of business analysis methods and techniques, modelling and quality assurance techniques to understand and articulate business processes and contribute to business outcomes.
- Engage and influence AFP senior leadership and provide the key link between senior executives and AFP employees.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify their needs, reach agreement on the business objectives and gain commitment to achieving results.
- Analyse very complex ICT business issues, applying expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
- Assess and evaluate ICT business improvement processes, strategy, initiatives, projects, policies and procedures.
- Accountable for investigating business needs, problems and opportunities and recommend effective business processes.
- Development of user stories and test cases, ensuring full traceability to defined requirements.
- Deliver business use cases which define potential improvements and options for achieving these through development of new or changed processes.
- Work effectively in a small team environment.
- Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other teams.

- Maintains currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Establishes and maintains effective business relationships and professional networks.
- Contributes to and implements improved ICT practices and procedures.
- Provides mentoring, coaching and training.
- Works effectively in a small team environment, and wider Command environment.
- Remains accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, shares own expertise with others and guides and mentors less experienced buyer employees; and
- Records and maintains files/information in accordance with buyer requirements.
