Our Financial Services practice is looking for an experienced Consultant / Senior Consultant to help us grow and shape a rapidly expanding practice in Sydney.
We’re looking for candidates based in Sydney with strong consulting fundamental skills and a genuine interest in delivering measurable value for financial services clients. Our work supports Australia’s largest financial institutions including banks, payments providers, superannuation funds, asset managers and insurers. You’ll partner with senior experts to help these organisations tackle their most complex challenges. We bring a management consulting approach grounded in a strong risk understanding, helping clients navigate regulatory expectations, manage uncertainty and embed robust controls while delivering strategic outcomes.
What you will be doing
In this role, you’ll work with clients on complex challenges at the intersection of strategy, risk, operations and sustainability - helping them to interpret emerging external pressures and translate them into practical, enterprise‑wide action. You’ll apply strong consulting fundamentals, including structured problem‑solving, stakeholder management and delivery skills, in client‑facing environments.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a range of specialist areas, including:

You don’t need to have experience in all of these areas; we’re looking for individuals who bring experience in at least one, alongside the curiosity and flexibility to work across other areas.

How you will work on client engagements:
- Understand your client needs, the outcomes required and deliver high quality deliverables for every project
- Deep industry expertise: Use your understanding of how specific financial services sectors operate (such as superannuation and banking), including their governance, business models and technology landscape to solve our clients most important problems.
- Navigate the regulatory landscape: Understand evolving regulatory requirements and standards, and translate them into practical, actionable solutions for financial services clients.
- Assess strategic risks and opportunities: Analyse the risks and opportunities facing institutions and support clients to respond through clear, commercially grounded strategies with practical roadmaps that deliver on organisational outcomes. This may include evaluating the credibility of goals and targets.
- Turn strategy into action: Operate at the intersection of strategy and implementation, translating strategic objectives into delivery plans and supporting clients to implement them.
How you will contribute to the growth of our business
- Support business development: Contribute to proposals, identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and help build our network across the market.
- Enhance our market presence: Contribute to how we articulate and showcase our capabilities internally and externally, including supporting client conversations, events and key pieces of insight.
- Contribute to thought leadership: Help develop practical insights and points of view on emerging industry topics, supporting both client impact and the growth of your own subject-matter profile.
Your skills and experience
- 2 – 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a management consultancy or an internal strategy, transformation or change function within the financial services industry.
- Experience supporting the delivery of complex, stakeholder-heavy projects in dynamic environments.
- Good collaboration skills, working effectively as part of a team and contributing positively to team outcomes.
- Focus on practical, actionable solutions that prioritise client outcomes, balancing ambition with what can be credibly delivered in real-world settings.
Consulting And Delivery Skills
- Strong structured problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex issues into practical, actionable steps.
- A strong interest in technology-enabled change within Financial Services, with the ability to translate business, regulatory or risk challenges into effective digital, data or systems-led solutions is advantageous.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and communicating complex topics in a clear, outcome-focused way.
- Comfortable presenting in both formal and informal settings, adapting style to suit different audiences and contexts.
- Ability to structure work effectively, including organising tasks, managing time and delivering high-quality outputs to deadlines
- Ability to work in ambiguity and help shape evolving problem statements and project scopes.
- Analytical mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret data, identify insights and support evidence-based recommendations.
- Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies, and the ability to leverage these to support delivery, insight generation and problem-solving.
- Good collaboration skills, working effectively as part of a team and contributing positively to team outcomes.
