Overview

Our client is a leading Australian civil engineering contractor, delivering complex and high-profile projects across the defence, infrastructure, resources, and energy sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Surveyor to join their team across a range of major metro and FIFO projects throughout Western Australia.

This role will see you take ownership of surveying activities onsite while mentoring junior surveyors and working closely with engineering and project delivery teams to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee onsite surveying activities across civil and infrastructure projects
  • Conduct detailed field surveys including set-out, as-builts, alignment checks, and volume calculations
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Operate and manage survey equipment including GPS, total stations, UAVs, and laser scanners
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of survey data and project deliverables
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors and field personnel
  • Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams
  • Prepare survey reports, documentation, and quality assurance records
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resolving technical survey issues onsite

Candidate Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Spatial Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in an Engineering Surveying role within the civil and/or mining sectors in WA
  • Previous experience leading survey teams on large-scale projects
  • Strong technical capability across modern surveying equipment and software
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and workplace safety requirements
  • Previous FIFO experience highly regarded
  • Current driver's licence and ability to pass pre-employment medicals
  • Full Australian working rights are essential
  • Australian citizenship is required due to project requirements
  • Dual citizens will be considered where secondary citizenship is held with the UK, USA, New Zealand, or Canada
