As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related data across multiple entities and pay groups.
- Performing detailed reconciliations of payroll on-costs, including superannuation, payroll tax, leave provisions, and employee entitlements.
- Analysing payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, exceptions, and potential compliance risks.
- Supporting the preparation of payroll data and reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
- Monitoring superannuation contributions and assisting with compliance activities relating to legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Investigating complex payroll queries and partnering with payroll operations teams to resolve issues and improve data accuracy.
- Assisting with payroll audits by providing reconciliations, supporting documentation, and data analysis.
- Contributing to the enhancement of payroll controls, processes, and system efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting payroll system upgrades, implementations, testing, and configuration changes from a data validation and compliance perspective.
- Acting as a subject matter resource for payroll data, reconciliations, and compliance-related matters across the business.
- Working closely with the Payroll Manager to provide accurate analysis and insights that support payroll reporting, governance, and decision-making.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Payroll Analyst Should Have
- Proven experience in payroll analysis, payroll reporting, and reconciliations within a complex payroll environment.
- Strong experience using Dayforce Payroll, which is essential for this role.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.
- A solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing payroll-related reconciliations, including superannuation, payroll tax, and leave provisions.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain payroll-related matters to both payroll and non-payroll stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process enhancements and drive efficiencies.
