This is a great opportunity for an Assistant Accountant ready to broaden their skills into management accounting, working closely with a Senior Accountant and Commercial Analyst across a busy, multi-entity business.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role supporting day-to-day finance operations while contributing to reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement across the business.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days look the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Contributing to monthly management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis, to help inform business decisions

· Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycle, including cost tracking and analysis across business units

· Identifying insights, trends and opportunities for process improvement across finance reporting and operations

· Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end close process

· Playing an active role in month-end and year-end close, reconciliations and reporting deadlines

· Assisting with cash flow reporting and analysis to support short-term planning and decision-making

· Gaining exposure to BAS, GST, FBT and other statutory reporting requirements

· Completing bank, credit card and supplier reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records

· Maintaining fixed asset, lease and other finance registers, ensuring data is accurate and audit-ready

· Supporting AP and AR activities where required, while building broader experience across the finance function

About You

· Around 2+ years’ experience in an accounting, finance or accounts support role, with a genuine interest in developing into management accounting

· A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field

· Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems, reports and large volumes of data

· A curious, analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, ask questions and look for better ways of working

· Strong attention to detail, organisation and follow-through

· Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy finance environment

· A clear communicator who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and building relationships across the business

Desirable

· CPA or CA or studying towards

· Exposure to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting or financial analysis

· Experience using ERP, accounting or reporting systems
