A little bit about you

You are an experienced operational and project leader who enjoys working in complex stakeholder environments and is passionate about supporting purpose-driven organisations. You have a proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead teams through change and build strong relationships with both employees and volunteers.

You will bring:

  • Experience leading operational teams and delivering strategic projects or programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement, change management and process optimisation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and confidence facilitating training, workshops and capability-building initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting and operational performance.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to the mission and values of St Vincent de Paul Society.

This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership and is motivated by making a positive impact in the community.

About the role

The Senior Operations Manager – Membership plays a pivotal role in the Society’s success, providing strategy leadership across multiple member projects and overseeing call centre operations and processes. This role works in close partnership with the Society’s Membership Volunteer leadership structure, including its 7 Central Councils and 33 Regional Councils, which collectively support more than 230 Conferences.

This position is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects, targeted support programs and key initiatives that strengthen the Society’s ability to support those most at risk of poverty & disadvantage. Success in this role requires a strong focus on stakeholder relationships, continuous improvement, capability building through training, and the development and maintenance of robust, well-documented procedures. There are components of ongoing operations that sit within the scope of this role, an ability to manage both operations and project delivery is important in this position.
