Glencore Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking a Rubber Liner – Surface Workshop within the Surface Workshop Department, reporting to the Supervisor Asset Support. This is a residential position based in Mount Isa, with some flexibility around roster options.

The Role

As part of an expanding team, this role suits a motivated individual seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity supporting the wider Queensland Metals Assets in a workshop environment. The ideal candidate is someone who recognises opportunity, challenges the status quo, and brings fresh thinking to the team.

The core responsibility of this role is to manage the rubber lining repair and maintenance workload, including but not limited to:

    Rebuild and refurbishment of rubber-lined components used in mining and processing Rubber lining, re-lining, and protective wear-surface applications Coordination of repetitive and planned work Ensuring quality standards and safe work practices are consistently met

Your Key Responsibilities will also include

    Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement Providing high level service to the stakeholders in both planned and breakdown scenarios Creating a team focus on performance, safety and quality Challenging cost and delivering value creation initiatives, including waste reduction Driving high housekeeping standards and the cultural expectations that support them Improving processes and standards around Quality Assurance for the workshop team Interpreting drawings and applying sound knowledge of rubber-lining techniques, workshop procedures and component preparation

The Successful Applicant Will Have

    Strong attention to detail and a proactive, can do attitude Ability to articulate, demonstrate and promote the Mount Isa Mines values A Trade Qualification in Rubber Lining or relevant industrial wear protection trade Supervisory experience (highly regarded) A current manual Australian driver’s licence Basic skills in Microsoft Office, SafeApps and SAP (advantageous)
