Associate or Senior Associate - Commercial

About The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a commercially minded Associate or Senior Associate to join our Commercial team in Melbourne. You will work with three experienced Principals and a team of highly skilled and dedicated lawyers.

This role offers broad exposure across several industries and client groups, including automotive, manufacturing and health, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.

The opportunity has a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions together with various corporate and commercial matters including commercial contracts, corporate structures and restructures, private capital raising, corporate governance and stakeholder agreements.

This role is ideal for a lawyer looking to continue building their M&A and corporate advisory capability within a collaborative, high-performing team. You’ll benefit from structured career progression and ongoing development through the Macpherson Kelley Business School.

About You

You will ideally have

• At least 4 years of post-admission experience working in corporate and commercial law.
• Mergers and Acquisitions experience, including involvement in running transactions typically ranging from $5 million to $150 million, together with corporate advisory experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities facilitating strategic, commercial and tailored advice.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• A strong commitment to excellence in client service.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers, or a willingness to develop in this area.
• An interest in business development and identifying new opportunities.
