This leading organisation that leads the way in their industry and offers a range of services across the East Coast of Australia is seeking a talented Payroll Manager to join their large payroll team. This attractive full-time permanent position will play a key role in the ongoing success of this-based organisation that is currently undergoing a transformation of their payroll department. The position will be based in their Brisbane inner city offices, which are located close to various public transport connections and on-site car parking is also available.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will play a key role within the department and be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise and coach the payroll team to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations)
  • Prepare and oversee payroll reporting and payroll reconciliations
  • Ensure that the group complies with relevant regulatory, tax and compliance
  • Recruitment of new payroll team members and team development
  • Deliver and support the organisation with best practice and process improvement across the payroll department
  • Driving changes across the team, including system upgrades
  • Communicating with various internal stakeholders regarding payroll processes, queries, and best practice
  • Recruitment of new payroll team members and team development

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you will meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a payroll team in a medium to large pay environment
  • Current knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and changing environment
  • Strong focus on employee engagement and development
  • Excellent rapport and communication skills to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders within the organisation
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
