This leading organisation that leads the way in their industry and offers a range of services across the East Coast of Australia is seeking a talented Payroll Manager to join their large payroll team. This attractive full-time permanent position will play a key role in the ongoing success of this-based organisation that is currently undergoing a transformation of their payroll department. The position will be based in their Brisbane inner city offices, which are located close to various public transport connections and on-site car parking is also available.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will play a key role within the department and be responsible for the following:
- Supervise and coach the payroll team to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations)
- Prepare and oversee payroll reporting and payroll reconciliations
- Ensure that the group complies with relevant regulatory, tax and compliance
- Recruitment of new payroll team members and team development
- Deliver and support the organisation with best practice and process improvement across the payroll department
- Driving changes across the team, including system upgrades
- Communicating with various internal stakeholders regarding payroll processes, queries, and best practice
- Recruitment of new payroll team members and team development
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrated experience leading a payroll team in a medium to large pay environment
- Current knowledge of payroll legislation
- Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
- Ability to work in a high-volume and changing environment
- Strong focus on employee engagement and development
- Excellent rapport and communication skills to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders within the organisation
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
