Human Resources Advisor | Barrow Island | 1:1 FIFO Roster

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join a major resources project on Barrow Island. Due to continued project activity and workforce growth, we are seeking an additional HR professional to provide site-based support across multiple projects and a workforce of approximately 200 personnel.

This is a unique FIFO opportunity offering a 1:1 roster, allowing you to work only six months of the year while earning a highly competitive hourly rate.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Project Director and supported by a dedicated corporate HR team, you will play a key role in providing operational HR support across a large and diverse workforce. This position is ideal for a confident HR Advisor with experience in the resources, construction, mining, oil & gas or infrastructure sectors who enjoys partnering closely with operational leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with site leadership to provide end-to-end HR, Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) support.
  • Support ongoing Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) negotiations and provide guidance throughout the process.
  • Interpret and advise on EBAs, industrial instruments and workplace legislation.
  • Liaise with unions, clients and stakeholders regarding right of entry and industrial matters.
  • Support workplace investigations, incident management and reporting requirements.
  • Manage employee relations matters including harassment, bullying, grievances and psychosocial issues.
  • Drive employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives across site.
  • Provide HR support to regional project teams as required, including Onslow and Wheatstone operations.
  • Work collaboratively with your back-to-back HR Advisor to ensure seamless coverage across the roster.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • 2+ years' experience in a Human Resources Advisor position within the resources, mining, construction or industrial sectors.
  • Exposure to Employee Relations and Industrial Relations matters.
  • Experience supporting operational leaders in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence working autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration with remote teams.
  • Investigation and case management experience across workplace matters.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline (desirable).

  • Casual engagement initially for 6 months, with the potential for extension or longer-term opportunities based on performance and business requirements.
  • Attractive rate of $75.00 per hour inclusive of casual loading.
  • 1:1 roster (Tuesday-to-Tuesday swings).
