The Role
As HR Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting employees and managers across the business while further developing your existing HR skills as part of a well-rounded, fun and professional team where people come first.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor or someone currently working in an operational/HR Officer role who is ready to take the next step in their career and expand into a broader advisory capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and practical, solutions-focused HR advice and guidance.
- Support managers on employee relations and performance management matters.
- Assist with recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.
- Facilitate Canterbury’s online learning management system (LMS).
- Coordinate WHS activities, including training and return-to-work processes.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation and relevant awards.
About You
We are seeking someone who is a strong cultural fit for the team - grounded, pragmatic and emotionally intelligent with the confidence to support people matters with professionalism and care.
You are a reliable, detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys working in a broad generalist role, ideally within a high-volume workforce environment.
You Will Bring
- Previous experience in a similar HR or People & Culture role.
- Hospitality or fast-paced operational experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience or willingness to develop skills in managing employee relations and performance management matters.
- Confidence in coaching leaders through difficult conversations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to support the wider team.
