Senior Project Manager

IXOM

About your role

Looking for a high-impact project role where you can see your work come to life on site?

We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of capital projects across our Botany manufacturing site and broader manufacturing network. This role is accountable for end-to-end project delivery — from concept and design through to commissioning and handover — while leading a team and helping shape long-term capital planning.

This role leads a CAPEX portfolio of approximately $8M–$15M per annum, with responsibility for a team of 3–4 direct and 6–10 indirect reports, delivering projects across site-based and customer-facing environments. This is a rare opportunity to combine site-based project execution, technical leadership, governance and team development in a complex manufacturing environment.

The role may require travel across manufacturing sites and engagement with customer-facing projects.

You’ll be

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of CAPEX projects from concept, design and execution through to commissioning and handover, ensuring safe, on-time and on-budget outcomes
  • Developing and executing project plans including scope, cost estimates, schedules and delivery strategies aligned to business and site requirements
  • Providing leadership and resource management across project managers, engineers and contractors, building capability, succession depth and high-performing teams
  • Managing commercial and procurement activities, including contractor selection, contract strategy, and performance management to protect project and business outcomes
  • Ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and reporting, maintaining strong relationships across operations, maintenance, commercial teams, regulators and external partners, and providing clear updates on cost, schedule, risk and performance
  • Ensuring compliance with governance, safety and regulatory requirements, including IXOM project management frameworks, project assurance processes, SHEQ standards, MOC, MHF obligations and applicable engineering standards
  • Leading project risk management, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated and managed in line with corporate frameworks
  • Contributing to capital planning and drive continuous improvement, enhancing project systems, tools, governance processes, engineering standards and lessons learned integration

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree-qualified Engineer (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • 10+ years’ experience delivering CAPEX projects in heavy industrial or continuous manufacturing environments
  • Strong technical capability across engineering design, construction and commissioning in live operational environments
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to lead contractors and multidisciplinary teams and build high-performing project teams
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, safety and risk management frameworks in high-hazard environments
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, commercial teams and external partners
  • Practical, delivery-focused leader, able to balance hands-on execution with governance and team leadership

Highly regarded

  • Experience in hazardous chemical or Major Hazard Facility (MHF) environments
  • Exposure to hazard studies / HAZOP / risk assessments
  • Experience contributing to long-term capital planning
  • Chartered Engineer status (CPEng / NPER)

What’s on offer

  • Competitive salary package
  • Lead a meaningful CAPEX portfolio in a complex manufacturing environment
  • End-to-end ownership across project delivery, governance and team leadership
  • Site-based role where you’re close to the action and can see tangible outcomes
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a team of project professionals and contractors
  • Exposure to both site-based and broader manufacturing / customer-facing projects
  • Long-term career opportunity with succession potential within the broader projects and manufacturing function
