About the Role
You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive business enterprise to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to be employed alongside other skilled team members. General Hands will work alongside team leaders to assist supported employees to carry out cleaning, and general maintenance to maintain a wide variety of sites for our commercial clients to contribute to enhancing the lives of people with a disability and achieving agreed operational and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning, vacuuming, bathrooms/toilets, mopping, dusting, laundry, washing walls/windows.
- Light domestic duties.
- The General Hand is well supported by the team leader to build positive team relationships that reflect the Aruma core values.
- Supported employees are assisted to develop new skills and achieve employment goals.
- Tasks are completed consistent with instructions from team leaders and supervisors, as well as contract specifications and scheduling requirements.
What you will need…
- A high level of physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position.
- Ability to work independently and/ or collaboratively as a team member.
- Sound verbal and written communication and ability to assess when to escalate issues.
- Ability to use technical skills to solve maintenance and site issues.
- Valid driver’s licence - minimum P2.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Childrens Check.
