Primary objective

Manage the provision of high quality administrative and frontline support to Division Surgery and Critical Care and Clinical

Staff.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide quality administrative support to the staff of Division Surgery and Critical Care while maintaining strict

confidentiality.

2. Assist with implementation and continuous improvement of operating processes, procedures and guidelines.

3. Keep track of AHPRA registrations, essential training and Working with Children Cards for staff.

4. Provide high level administrative support including accurate data entry, filing, electronic records management and the

preparation and dissemination of correspondence for Surgical Outreach Clinics, Visiting Medical Officers and S&CC

locum workforce.

5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated administrative experience, ability to organise, take direction from multiple managers and prioritise

workload to meet deadlines.

2. Demonstrated ability to prepare written correspondence. including reports, with knowledge of financial processes.

3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and organisational skills of a high order, including an ability to work

within a team.

4. Awareness of and compliance with the management of highly confidential information and to undertake training

requirements.

5. Demonstrated experience using electronic software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or similar, as

well as online systems for staff management, rostering, procurement and payment processing similar to OneStaff, NTG

Pay and TRIPS.

6. Awareness of multicultural issues and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
