About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead Perth Airport's aviation growth strategy across China and Asia, driving new route development, strengthening airline partnerships and expanding passenger volumes in line with long-term commercial objectives. As Vice President Aviation Business Development, working closely with senior airline stakeholders, government, tourism and internal teams, you will identify new opportunities, develop compelling business cases and position Perth Airport as a preferred gateway for international aviation growth.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead route development initiatives to grow air services, passenger numbers and market share across China and Asia.
  • Build and manage senior relationships with airline partners, government agencies, tourism bodies and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop high-quality, data-driven business cases, commercial proposals and incentive strategies to secure new and expanded airline services.
  • Drive strategic marketing and partnership initiatives with airlines and destination partners to support route performance and passenger growth.
  • Monitor market trends, airline performance and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and manage airline accounts to deliver strong commercial outcomes for Perth Airport.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Operations to align aviation growth initiatives with business priorities.

About You

You are an influential and culturally astute aviation leader with the credibility to represent Perth Airport at the highest levels across airline, government and industry networks. Fluent in Mandarin, you bring the language capability, market insight and relationship strength needed to engage confidently across China and Asia, while combining strategic thinking, sound judgement and commercial acumen to influence decisions that drive long-term aviation growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant senior executive experience in aviation, sales and business development.
  • Proven success driving commercial growth, securing new business and delivering against ambitious targets.
  • Strong experience in complex deal negotiation, commercial proposals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic relationships with airlines, government and industry partners.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret data and develop compelling business cases.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced international environment, with a strategic and execution-focused approach.
  • Professional fluency in Mandarin.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
