The Role
The Logistics Officer at 41 Royal New South Wales Regiment is accountable, under limited direction, for the delivery of complex logistics, inventory, and asset management functions within an integrated workforce. The role requires the effective coordination and governance of logistics activities to support operational capability and organisational readiness.
The Logistics Officer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and applying a well-developed understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, Defence policy, mission, and strategic requirements. This includes ensuring compliance with Defence logistics systems, asset accountability standards, and governance obligations while providing informed advice to support command decision making.
About our Team
41 Royal New South Wales Regiment (41 RNSWR) is an Infantry Battalion within the 2nd (AS) Division Battalion Headquarters is located in Lismore, New South Wales, with depot locations spanning from Tweed Heads to Taree, providing broad regional coverage across northern New South Wales. 41 RNSWR is predominantly comprised of Army Reserve personnel; however, it maintains a small but critical contingent of full time soldiers, officers, and APS staff in key staff appointments.
These personnel provide essential continuity and support to enable the effective day to day functioning of the battalion and the maintenance of operational capability.

The successful candidate is committed to continuous professional development, prepared to rapidly build and maintain a deep understanding of Defence logistics systems, policy, and governance requirements, and capable of operating with autonomy while leading, influencing, and developing others within an integrated workforce.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Experience in a logistics, supply chain, operations, or administrative role, preferably within a government or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting resource coordination, asset tracking, transport, or inventory activities.
- Previous experience working in a team based environment with diverse stakeholders.
