Purpose of the Position
You will provide clinical management and consultation service to patients in the Respiratory Department and specialty and participate in an appropriate on-call roster for Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within NSLHD.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australasian College of Physicians or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their fellowship within 3 months may be considered.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- Demonstrated clinical, diagnostic and technical skills commensurate with functioning as an independent Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Consultant
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated participation in and commitment to undergraduate, postgraduate, interdisciplinary teaching and education, including research, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established.
