Overview
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator with strong Linux and VMware expertise to support and maintain enterprise infrastructure within a Telecommunication environment in a Managed Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Linux servers, VMware virtualization platforms, system performance, security, and operational stability while ensuring high availability of critical telecom and business systems.
This role operates in a 24/7 managed services setup supporting large-scale telecom infrastructure, where stability, performance, and rapid incident resolution are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux server environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, or equivalent).
- Manage and support VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, and associated infrastructure components.
- Perform server provisioning, patch management, upgrades, and system hardening activities.
- Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, performance, and availability across physical and virtual environments in a telecom production environment.
- Troubleshoot Linux OS, VMware, storage, and networking issues impacting telecom services.
- Configure and maintain user accounts, permissions, authentication services, and security policies.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes aligned with telecom SLAs.
- Implement and maintain system monitoring and automation tools used in managed services operations.
- Perform root cause analysis and proactively resolve infrastructure incidents within SLA timelines.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with network, storage, backup, security, and telecom operations teams.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support and shift-based operations as required in managed services delivery.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, VMware Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience in enterprise and telecom-grade environments.
- Proven experience managing VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, VM provisioning, clustering, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with server performance tuning, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Knowledge of storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and virtual storage environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using Bash, Shell, Python, or Ansible.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is advantageous.
- Experience in Telecommunication Managed Services operations or NOC/SOC environments is highly desirable.
