Salary Range: Base Salary $119,326 - $134,802 per annum + super

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in local government or other public sector environments to play a key role in delivering major capital works for the community.
In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of projects while ensuring they meet quality expectations and comply with Council’s Project Management Framework and governance requirements. You’ll oversee portfolio resources to keep projects aligned with strategic priorities, manage risks, change and opportunities, and provide high-level expertise in contract management, procurement and administration.
Working closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants and the community, you’ll build strong relationships, support engagement activities, and promote a consistent PMO approach across the organisation. You’ll also mentor and guide Project Managers and Project Officers, driving best practice and continuous improvement, while providing accurate reporting and maintaining a strong focus on performance and outcomes.
Qualifications And Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Diploma in Project Management or similar-related competency (Essential).
- Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD) (Essential).
- Current “C” class driver's licence (Essential).
- Tertiary level qualifications in engineering, town planning, architecture or other related field.
- Substantial experience in delivering infrastructure projects across the project life cycle including records keeping, governance and financial principles.
- Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with experience leading teams in a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Ability to provide expert advice in the management and administration of project issues.
- Experience in multi-faceted stakeholder management and responding constructively to operational and strategic challenges.
- Demonstrated experience with the Administration of AS 4000-1997 Construct, AS 4122-2010 Consultancy and AS4902-2000 Design and Construction Contracts.
- Ability to obtain Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Certified Practicing Senior Project Manager (CPSPM).
