About The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Kong API Developer with strong expertise in Kong API Gateway and Redis to design, develop, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing API solutions. This role will play a key part in driving API management, integration, security, and performance optimization across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and deploy APIs using Kong API Gateway.
  • Develop custom Kong plugins and API management solutions.
  • Implement Redis-based caching, rate limiting, session management, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Integrate APIs with enterprise applications and third-party services.
  • Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform reliability.
  • Implement API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, mTLS, and Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure integration solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards, and deployment processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway.
  • Experience developing and supporting custom Kong plugins.
  • Strong knowledge of Redis for caching, session management, and data storage.
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and development.
  • Experience with Lua, Go, Python, or Node.js.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Security, Authentication & Authorization.
  • Experience implementing mTLS and Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and API-led integrations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Exposure to enterprise integration and service orchestration platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred).
