A fast-growing AI and analytics consultancy is seeking a commercially driven leader to spearhead growth across the Victorian market.

This is a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial business at a pivotal stage of growth, working directly with founders and executive stakeholders to expand market presence, win new clients, and shape how organisations adopt AI and analytics solutions.

This is primarily a revenue-generating role, ideally suited to someone who thrives in client-facing environments, enjoys building relationships, and can confidently translate business challenges into AI-enabled solutions.

This is not a traditional sales role. To be successful, you'll bring a strong foundation in Data, Analytics, Engineering or AI, coupled with the commercial capability to identify opportunities, build relationships and drive revenue growth.

The role is split approximately:

  • 60% New Business Development
  • 30% Account Management & Growth
  • 10% Team Leadership & Mentoring

You will be responsible for building a pipeline of opportunities, developing executive relationships, growing existing accounts, and helping establish the company's presence as a leading AI consultancy in Melbourne.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owning and growing a portfolio of enterprise and mid-market client relationships
  • Driving new business acquisition through networking, referrals, outbound activity and strategic partnerships
  • Managing a consistent pipeline and achieving revenue targets
  • Conducting 5–10 client meetings per week with senior stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to help organisations leverage AI, analytics and automation to solve business challenges
  • Leading commercial discussions, proposals and solution workshops
  • Growing and expanding existing client accounts
  • Building relationships with C-suite and executive decision-makers
  • Working closely with delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes for clients
  • Mentoring and supporting consultants as the Melbourne team grows

What We're Looking For

  • Proven success in a consulting, professional services, technology or solutions sales environment
  • Strong track record of winning new business and managing revenue targets
  • A background in Data, Analytics, Engineering or AI is essential
  • Experience selling complex technology, consulting or transformation services
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes and value propositions
  • Strong understanding of AI, analytics, data platforms and emerging technologies
  • Experience building and maintaining executive-level relationships
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience operating in a highly autonomous, growth-focused environment
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience

Highly Desirable

  • Background within consulting, advisory or technology services organisations
  • Experience delivering or leading Data, Analytics, AI or Digital Transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of modern AI technologies including GenAI, LLMs, RAG and agentic systems
  • Exposure to platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Existing network across Melbourne's enterprise and mid-market landscape
  • Experience launching or growing a new market, practice or business unit
