Senior Account Manager

Red Apple IT

Senior Account Manager - State Government, Hobart. Own strategic gov't relationships, sell ICT solutions that matter. Great patch, great city.

  • Own strategic relationships with Tasmania's state government departments.
  • Sell digital transformation, cloud, connectivity & voice solutions.
  • Based in Hobart — genuinely achievable targets, real seat at the table.

Let's start with what you really care about.

You're a senior account manager who's good at this. You know how to work a complex government relationship, navigate procurement frameworks without losing the will to live, and still find time to actually grow a portfolio. You've probably been doing it for a while.

So what's in this for you?

A genuinely strategic patch. Not a glorified renewals role dressed up with a fancy title, this is a seat at the table with Tasmania's state government departments, where the decisions are real, and the relationships matter. You'll have the backing of a local brand that's been trusted here for over 20 years, now turbocharged by a national network and global ICT capability. That's a rare combination: the credibility of a local player with the product depth of a major.

You'll also be selling solutions people need. Digital transformation, regional connectivity, cloud, voice, this is genuinely useful work for the public sector, not vaporware with a slide deck.

And the targets? Honest and achievable. $7,500 in new MRR and $2,800 in GP per month. Senior-level expectations, not a pressure cooker.

Now, about where you'd be doing this.

Hobart.

If you're not already here, that sentence either made you curious or made you click away. If you're still reading, great! Because Hobart in 2026 is not the Hobart of ten years ago. It's a city that punches well above its weight: world-class food scene, MONA on your doorstep, mountains to hike, and a harbour that makes people stop mid-sentence. House prices that don't make you cry and a commute that doesn't either.

It's the kind of place people move to and wonder why they waited so long.

What the role involves.

You'll own the end-to-end relationship with a portfolio of state government clients — retention, expansion, and bringing new solutions to accounts that have real appetite for them. You'll work with presales, solution architects, and delivery teams to put together winning proposals, and then make sure what gets sold gets delivered.

There's CRM hygiene expected, proper forecasting, and navigating government procurement cycles without shortcuts. If that sounds like standard operating procedure to you, excellent.

What you'll bring.

You understand the telco and ICT landscape. You've sold to or worked with government before and know how to influence stakeholders above the procurement layer. You're comfortable owning a number and comfortable having a frank conversation when something's not tracking.

You don't need hand-holding. You need a good patch, solid products, and a team that gets out of your way.
