Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for the role of a Vulcaniser. Reporting to the Supervisor Asset Support, you will be responsible for undertaking conveyor belt repairs, replacements, and inspections in areas such as smelters, concentrators, crushing plants and underground, whilst displaying a strong commitment to safety.

This position is residentially based in Mount Isa on a family friendly 4/4/4/2 roster.

This position would see you responsible for

    Reporting in relation to the condition of belts and associated components of the conveyor Solid standard of workmanship with splicing fabric belts, lagging conveyor drums and occasionally rubber lining pipes and chutes

The successful candidate will possess

    Belt Splicer / Cert IV Polymer Processing trade certificate Previous heavy industry experience would be an advantage Suitable level of experience and knowledge in material handling for conveyors and related components, working as a belt splicer Experience in troubleshooting operational issues for conveyors, rigging, operating winches and winders Preferred experience in the use of solvents, adhesives and mechanically fasteners HR truck license and forklift ticket would also be an advantage Valid manual driver’s license Flexible attitude and sound work ethic Excellent time management skills and the ability to achieve results within the specified time frames Strong customer service along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision
