Commercial Underwriter – Commercial Packages Team

Are you an insurance professional with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of risk, and an interest in developing your career in commercial underwriting? We’re seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join our growing Commercial Packages team. This is a great opportunity to step into a broker-facing underwriting role with strong support and ongoing development.

About the Role

The Commercial Packages team focuses on the transport sector and is a core part of the business, with strong ongoing growth. In this role, you will assess, price, and manage a portfolio of new and renewal commercial risks while working closely with brokers to provide tailored insurance solutions.

You will be part of a collaborative environment with direct broker engagement and support from internal teams. This role also offers up to 3 days work from home. This opportunity is also well suited to a junior underwriter or Broker support staff looking to take the next step into an underwriting career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new and renewal commercial motor and package business within the transport sector
• Evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions
• Work closely with brokers to provide timely and tailored underwriting solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities for growth within an established portfolio

About You

• Experience in motor insurance is highly desirable
• Background in underwriting, claims, or broker support, with a strong interest in moving into underwriting
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building ability (particularly with brokers)
