Join the Team
As a Senior Database Engineer of our Corporate Technology team within Cloud and Enterprise Infrastructure Services (CEIS), Enterprise Services, you will be responsible for the design and management of the organisation's databases and middleware to ensure changes and complex queries are addressed in accordance with the needs of internal and external customers.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and support of enterprise database platforms, including Exadata and cloud-based database environments, ensuring high availability and SLA compliance.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient database architectures, including monitoring, upgrades, migrations, backup/recovery strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using shell scripting, Ansible, and IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation to streamline infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.
- Drive data security, quality, and technical capability uplift.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience administering and supporting enterprise database platforms, including Exadata and cloud-based database environments within complex enterprise settings.
- Proven experience delivering database upgrades, migrations, automation, and Infrastructure as Code solutions using scripting, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Strong expertise in performance monitoring, optimisation, and maintaining secure, stable data platforms
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical improvements, ensure data integrity, and uplift engineering capability
