Business Analyst – Application Delivery

• Initial 12-month contract with potential extension
• Brisbane (Hybrid)

BLACKROC is partnering with a large Queensland organisation to recruit a hands-on Business Analyst for a collaborative Agile application delivery team. This role will suit someone who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders, SMEs and developers to deliver practical solutions across the full delivery lifecycle, from process analysis and requirements gathering through to testing, release support and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops and engage with business stakeholders to understand and refine requirements
• Analyse and map business processes and workflows
• Develop user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria and test scenarios
• Collaborate closely with developers and SMEs to deliver fit-for-purpose business applications
• Perform hands-on testing, defect management and release validation activities
• Maintain Jira and Confluence artefacts and support sprint planning activities
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, showcases and retrospectives
• Support regular application releases within a two-week sprint cycle
• Contribute to digital transformation and business improvement initiatives

About You

You are a delivery focused Business Analyst with recent experience working within application development or digital product teams. You are comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity and enjoy working closely with business users and developers to deliver tangible outcomes.

You'll bring

• Strong business process analysis and process mapping skills
• Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements
• Strong user story, acceptance criteria and test case development experience
• Hands-on testing and UAT experience
• Recent experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong Jira and Confluence skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

• Experience within insurance, claims, personal injury, workers compensation or scheme-based environments
• Exposure to Appian or other workflow and low-code platforms
