The role
The Legal Counsel will work across many areas of law including water, environment, property, litigation and commercial law.
You will work closely with business units across our organisation, providing expert legal advice and driving meaningful outcomes for both our commercial businesses and customers. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be empowered to work autonomously within the scope of the role, while also collaborating within a supportive and high-performing team.
What you’ll bring
- Completion of legal studies (Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor) and admission to practice law in Victoria (or ability to be admitted) with up to 6 years’ experience as a practising lawyer.
- Proactive problem solving with a passion for process optimisation and a proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify legal risks.
