The Position

We have an opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to efficiently manage the direct day-to-day operational activities of our Vehicle Processing Centre in Webb Dock, Port Melbourne. This role is suitable for someone who possesses strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement successful management strategies. This role will lay out the who, what, when and how of our daily operations – defining how our labour, facilities and financial resources will be allocated to achieve our short and long term goals.

What you will do

  • Monthly P&L reporting, investigate and articulate variance
  • Consolidate and methodically analyse output requirements to effectively meet our production services
  • Control and allocate labour including Prixcar staff and agency within budget / operational requirements
  • Liaise and interface with clients and Client Liaison Officers to ensure timely vehicle processing
  • Arrange and maintain training requirements, training records and skill matrix
  • Supervise the operations of the parts store to ensure adequate stock levels and quarantine of defective parts
  • Ensure PrixCar’s Quality System and total quality management is implemented and understood for all aspects of service, workmanship, procedures to satisfy the company standards
  • Promote and foster a continuously improving service culture
  • Perform and assist with quality audits and implement any corrective actions where necessary

What you will bring

  • A proven conscientious operational leadership with a passion for effective processing operations, HSEQ & service delivery
  • Ability to engage with team members at all levels and utilise your relationships to achieve operational KPIs and efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated background in superior operational performance and people management
  • Experience as a hands on operator who can make decisions on the run
  • Ability to take ownership, can operate independently and sees things through to conclusion
  • Well developed MS Office skills

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in the auto industry
  • Mechanical/ electrical aptitude
