Senior Solicitor – Public Interest & Protection
Join a high-performing legal team within the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO)
Work on complex, high-profile litigation and advice matters
Central Sydney CBD location, with relocation to a modern office in July 2026
Classification and Salary – 2 X Legal Officer Grade V (LOG V): $154,403 – $157,430 p.a. (plus superannuation and leave loading - subject to 3% increase in Salary from July 2026) - Full-time, 35 hours per week up to 24 months
We are currently seeking two Senior Solicitors with a background in litigation to join the Public Interest & Protection Practice Group.
- Please note we will be relocating to new premises at Parkline Place, 252 Pitt Street, Sydney in July 2026.
About the Practice Group
The Public Interest & Protection Practice Group provides advice and representation to NSW Government agencies in highly complex and sensitive legal work, including:
Public interest immunity claims in civil and criminal matters across all jurisdictions
Charitable trust matters for the Attorney General
Discrimination matters, including class actions
Guardianship matters for the Public Guardian and the Trustee and Guardian
About the Role
Senior Solicitor roles provide specialist advice and representation in both litigation and advisory matters. The Senior Solicitor (LOG V) role focuses on providing high-quality legal advice and representation in complex matters, managing junior solicitors, and supporting the broader practice group’s work.

About You
We are seeking experienced and talented solicitors with strong litigation and advisory expertise and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team.
Ideally, you will bring 5+ years of post-admission experience, supervision experience, ability to manage complex matters, draft sophisticated legal advice, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality legal services.
Solicitors with backgrounds in criminal law, strong litigation and advice writing skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are encouraged to apply.
Essential Requirements
Australian citizenship
Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
Highly developed legal skills and extensive experience in matters within the group’s areas of expertise
