Senior Manager - Tax Advisory

About the role

Brentnalls NSW is looking for a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional to join our growing tax advisory team in Sydney. We are a tax and business advisory firm, so compliance is a critical and important aspect of the client service. Though, this is not a compliance-heavy role dressed up as advisory. It is a genuine opportunity to use your skills, as well as grow as an adviser through working on complex matters with direct partner support and collaboration with external stakeholders.

What you’ll work on

• Complex compliance matters across private groups, trusts and corporate structures
• Engaging with external legal advisers
• Private rulings and ATO engagement
• Trusts, estates, and succession planning matters
• Tax advice on property acquisitions, developments, sales and leases
• Retirement living and aged care structures
• CGT, Division 7A, GST and small business concessions
• Cross-border and investment structures
• Drafting clear written tax advice
• You will work closely with a partner on matters requiring deep technical analysis, and balanced judgment, not just interpretation of black-letter law.

About you

• 6–10+ years’ Australian tax experience
• Strong technical capability
• Excellent written communication
• Confidence forming and articulating positions
• CA / CPA qualified
