About the Client

This is a well-established, medium-sized construction group that operates multiple entities and delivers a number of high-profile projects. The business is growing and has a strong project pipeline over the coming years. In this organisation, you will be highly visible across operations and the senior executive team, with finance playing a central role in supporting decision-making, governance, and long-term performance.

About the Role

This is a true Financial Controller role with full ownership of the finance function.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of financial reporting across weekly, monthly, and annual cycles, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, forecasts, and statutory accounts. Beyond that, you’ll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, managing risk, and identifying opportunities across the group.

You will oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and cash flow, manage external relationships with auditors, and take full accountability for compliance, controls, and reporting standards.

In this role, you’ll be deeply embedded in the business, contributing as a senior leader, supporting decision-making and helping to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You’ll also lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.

About You

You’re a qualified CA or CPA with a strong technical foundation, you will be either operating as a Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager in a large business environment looking to step up or already operating as a Financial Controller in a similar-sized business within construction or a similar project-related business (property, development, infrastructure, aged care etc).

More importantly, you’re operationally minded and want to get out into the business. You understand how finance supports the business outcomes, not just how to report on it. You’re confident working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing priorities, and communicating clearly with senior stakeholders.

You enjoy leading people, developing your team's capabilities, and improving how things are done through better processes, automation, and smarter controls.
