Software Engineer (Backend or Full Stack) – Product focused role - PLEASE READ the below job advertisement before applying.

Sydney CBD (5 Days Onsite – non-negotiable) *Please don't APPLY for this role is you cannot be in the office 5 days per week*

$140K–$200K base + super (depending on experience)

Spring Boot commercial experience a MUST for this role

They’re looking for engineers who take ownership, design and build solutions, and ship features end-to-end into production—creating meaningful products used by real customers.

About the Role

This is a hands-on product engineering role where you’ll take features from concept through to production. You’ll work close to the customer experience, shaping not just backend systems but how users interact with and benefit from the product.

The team values engineers who think critically about user experience and take pride in building high-quality, impactful products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end (owning features from idea to design to production)
• Develop scalable backend and/or frontend systems
• Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code
• Deploy, monitor, and support features in live environments
• Collaborate closely with product and internal teams
• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability

Tech Stack

Backend: Java or Kotlin (Spring Boot), PostgreSQL, Kubernetes

Frontend: React, TailwindCSS, TanStack Query (only for those who are Full Stack Developers)

You don’t need to cover the full stack, but you should be strong in at least one area.

What We Are Looking For (Please read)

• 3–6 years of commercial software engineering experience (Mid-Senior)
• Strong backend fundamentals (Java + Spring Boot/Kotlin preferred), Spring Boot a MUST for this role
• Strong coding and problem-solving skills
• High ownership mindset—you take responsibility and deliver outcomes end (owning features from idea to design to production)
• Pragmatic and focused on shipping real impact
• Experience working on production systems
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Prior experience in a product company, startup, or scale-up

Who This Role Isn’t For (Please read)

• Pure frontend-only engineers
• Engineers focused heavily on platform/DevOps without product ownership
• Candidates from large corporates/consulting environments focused mainly on process or data
• Engineers who haven’t owned and delivered features end-to-end
