We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Our aim is to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences that are relevant to the real world of industry.
About the Role
We are seeking an Application & Platform Support Officer to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity, with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements.
The Application & Platform Support Officer provides first-line support for the School’s core platforms, including Microsoft 365 and the Student Management System suite. This role ensures systems remain accessible, reliable, and operating effectively by managing user requests, monitoring platform performance, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Supporting a range of ongoing transformation initiatives, the role plays a key part in embedding new technologies into day-to-day operations, ensuring end users receive consistent and responsive support. The position also works closely with senior technical staff, escalating more complex issues to ensure timely resolution and continuity of service
Key Responsibilities include
- Provide first-line support for SMS and Microsoft 365 platforms, resolving routine issues and escalating as needed
- Monitor system health, logs, and alerts, and document outcomes
- Manage incidents, service requests, and communicate updates to users
- Support onboarding, user access, and account provisioning in line with policies
- Perform basic system configuration updates under guidance
- Run data checks, generate reports, and escalate data concerns
- Follow security, privacy, and compliance requirements, supporting audits where needed
- Contribute to documentation, identify improvements, and support team knowledge sharing

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Essential
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
- Experience providing technical support in a service desk or IT support role.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of ITIL and ITSM processes and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate The Industry School values.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or QCT Registration.
- Valid driver licence and right to work in Australia.
Desirable
- Familiarity with student management systems or similar business application platforms.
- Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshdesk).
- Experience in a school or education environment.
