MAARS is conducting an exclusive search for a high-calibre Editor on behalf of one of Australia's fastest-growing digital publishing businesses.

Reaching more than 550,000 Australians every day through its websites and newsletters, this publisher has ambitious plans to grow its audience beyond one million readers over the coming years.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced newsroom-trained Editor with strong digital publishing credentials, exceptional news judgement and a proven ability to build audience engagement at scale.

The audience is Australia's influential and rapidly growing 60+ demographic - digitally engaged, highly loyal and deeply invested in content that informs, entertains and resonates with their everyday lives.

Content spans consumer affairs, cost of living, retirement, superannuation, scams, health, travel, lifestyle, nostalgia, celebrity news and issues impacting older Australians.

We are seeking someone who:

Has developed their editorial instincts within a recognised newsroom or digital publishing environment
Understands what drives audience engagement, newsletter growth and repeat readership
Possesses strong news judgement and story selection skills
Is commercially aware whilst maintaining editorial integrity
Can lead, inspire and direct content teams in a fast-paced publishing environment
Has the ambition to help scale an already substantial audience to the next level

The successful candidate will lead the editorial direction of two established digital publications and oversee a lean Sydney-based operation supported by a broader offshore content team.
