Who we are

Jawun is a not-for-profit organisation that leverages the capabilities of corporate, government and philanthropic Australia to support Indigenous-led development. Guided by the strategies of Indigenous leaders and organisations, Jawun works to build the capacity of Indigenous organisations to drive positive social impact at community-level. Jawun began facilitating partnerships between corporate and Indigenous Australia in Cape York in 2001.

The Jawun model is transferable and today we work with remote communities in Cape York Peninsula (QLD), the Pilbara, East and West Kimberley (WA), Central Australia (NT, WA, SA) and Northeast Arnhem Land (NT), regional communities of Goulburn-Murray (VIC), Central Coast (NSW), Lower River Murray (LRM) and Far West Coast (FWC), the urban communities of Inner Sydney (NSW) and South West Australia (WA).

About the role

Our Regional Coordinator team ensure the smooth execution of some of Jawun’s core programs: our 4 x annual secondment rounds and our executive visits. They focus on a small number of regions and work closely with the Regional Director in each region. The Regional Coordinator focuses on the administrative and logistical requirements of each program.

This role is based out of our Sydney CBD office. We have a hybrid work arrangement (Tuesday and Wednesday in the office, the rest at home).

You will contribute in the following ways

  • Travel and accommodation bookings for secondees and guests
  • track budget and spend
  • coordinate payment of invoices to suppliers
  • issuing of invoices to corporates post events
  • maintain data and accurate information in our CRM
  • Maintain core materials and artefacts
  • Send surveys and gather responses
  • Contribute to reporting.

Our successful candidate will

  • Have been successful in previous event or program coordination role
  • have meticulous organisational, prioritising and time management skills
  • enjoy problem solving and be comfortable changing direction quickly should the circumstances require it
  • confidently and effectively engage with a range of people
  • enjoy systems and programs and pick them up quickly
  • be proficient in the MS Office suite and ideally, Salesforce, Canva and Xero
  • be a motivated, proactive and collaborative colleague
  • be committed to Indigenous rights and connect personally with Jawun’s purpose.
