What you'll be doing

Provision of high-quality clinical services and the management of all Health components of the Joint Child Protection Responses Program (JCPRP) in partnership with the JCPRP interagency partners, NSW Police and Department of Community and Justice (DCJ).

The JCPRP will service the communities of Port Macquarie and Taree in line with the NSW Police and DCJ JCPRP boundary.

About You

You present yourself as a highly skilled and grounded professional, someone who brings both clinical depth and cultural awareness to every interaction. You draw on your Bachelor of Social Work and your eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers to anchor your practice in strong ethical and professional foundations. Your experience spans complex and sensitive environments, particularly in the facilitation of forensic medical services and crisis‑driven therapeutic responses for victims of sexual assault, physical abuse and child neglect within a Health Service. You understand the weight of these moments and the responsibility that comes with responding to them.

You carry a genuine commitment to working alongside Aboriginal communities, supported by a demonstrated understanding of the dynamics surrounding child sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect and family violence in these contexts. You approach this work with respect, cultural humility and a willingness to listen deeply.

Within a Local Health District, you step confidently into clinical leadership, guiding child protection interventions and fostering strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams and interagency stakeholders. You communicate with clarity and purpose, drawing on excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills to consult, collaborate and build trust with people from diverse backgrounds.

You’re also someone who moves comfortably between the human and the technical. Your computer skills are strong and adaptable, allowing you to work efficiently across a range of software, from word processing to data management and spreadsheets. You remain flexible and responsive, including being available for on‑call work when required, and you maintain a current NSW driver’s licence to support the mobility your work often demands.

Overall, you come across as capable, compassionate and steady—someone who brings both expertise and heart to the work of protecting and supporting children, families and communities.
