About The Role
An opportunity is available for a Medical Receptionist to support a busy ENT specialist clinic. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and customer service experience who is confident working in a healthcare environment. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and professional experience while supporting day-to-day clinic operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy setting.
Position: Medical Receptionist - $35-40/hour per hour + super
Location: Port Macquarie, NSW
Working Arrangement: Onsite
Start Date: 1 August 2026
Duration: Mid October 2026 (Casual Contract)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional front-desk reception and patient support
- Manage appointment scheduling, bookings, and patient flow
- Handle incoming calls, enquiries, and clinic correspondence
- Process referrals, forms, and patient documentation accurately
- Maintain patient records in practice management systems
- Support doctors and clinical staff with administrative tasks
- Manage scanning, filing, and document organisation
- Coordinate reminders, follow-ups, and appointment confirmations
- Ensure a welcoming and professional patient experience at all times
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with privacy requirements
- Assist with general clinic administration as required
About You
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Secretary, Practice Administrator or similar healthcare administration role
- Experience working within a specialist medical practice, hospital, clinic or healthcare environment is highly regarded
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience managing appointments, patient records and clinical correspondence
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Professional presentation and a patient-focused approach
- Knowledge of Medicare billing, private health administration or specialist practice processes is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team
