With high‑quality water sources, a sophisticated logistics network and a values‑led culture at its core, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth, investment and operational maturity, creating an opportunity for a hands-on, commercially minded Financial Controller to join the team in Millbrook, Victoria.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the CFO and partnering with the CEO, COO and broader leadership team, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial discipline, enhancing commercial insight and supporting operational performance.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, combining strong technical capability with data-driven analysis and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading monthly management reporting, annual financial statements, and board reporting processes
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the business
  • Delivering meaningful commercial insights, including route and customer profitability analysis
  • Driving operational cost analysis across fleet, fuel, maintenance, and logistics
  • Strengthening financial controls, compliance (ATO, accounting standards, HACCP), and governance frameworks
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, and supporting capital investment decisions
  • Leading and supporting a small finance and administration team

The Ideal Person

You are a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional who thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment. You take ownership, bring structure to complexity, and engage others with clarity and credibility.

You will bring:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar role
  • Advanced Excel capability and confidence in data analysis, modelling, and process improvement
  • Strong financial reporting and control experience
  • A practical understanding of operational cost drivers (ideally in transport, logistics, manufacturing, or related sectors)
  • A collaborative, engaging and supportive leadership style
  • A steady, accountable temperament suited to a small, close-knit team
