With over 1.3 million members RAC is one of WA’s most iconic and trusted brands. We are a purpose-led member organisation striving to create greater value for our members and deliver on our purpose to be “

As our Content Design Manager, you will lead the content design stream of RAC's Digital Experience Program. This includes supporting the migration to a new headless CMS, redesigning the website's information architecture, establishing content standards and governance, and ensuring content experiences are optimised for members with a focus on mid to lower funnel journeys.

This role is being offered on a 12-month maximum term contract on a full-time basis (0.8 fte/ 4 days will be considered for the right candidate) and will work across Website Performance, Digital Products, Marketing and Product teams to deliver a more intuitive, scalable and effective digital experience while building the content foundations required to support RAC's future digital ecosystem.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading cross-functional stakeholder engagement to build alignment, drive adoption of an enterprise approach to content, and embed content best practices across teams.
  • Developing governance and guidance models, supporting the Web Performance Team and stakeholders with frameworks, training, and content standards.
  • Collaborating with UX and SEO roles to enhance content structure, usability, accessibility, and search visibility—transforming disjointed pages into connected experiences.
  • Serving as the strategic content partner to marketing, service, and digital teams—translating business priorities into clear, actionable content briefs.
  • Articulating the strategic role of content in achieving RAC’s Group and Digital Experience Strategy, and championing its impact on member experience and brand trust.
  • Defining and executing content strategies across the full member journey, focusing on mid-to-lower funnel optimisation for acquisition, retention, and conversion.
  • Mapping and optimising customer journeys by identifying content gaps, validating plans with research, and designing persuasive content aligned to key stages.
  • Setting clear direction for content teams, providing briefs, guidance and frameworks that drive efficient, high-performing content delivery.
  • Developing reusable narratives and assets to deliver scalable, brand-aligned content across digital channels, including micro-interactions and social impact messaging.
  • Monitoring and optimising content performance, leveraging insights from surveys, dashboards, and research to continuously improve engagement and outcomes.
  • Benchmarking and reporting content impact, contributing to regular performance reviews, presenting insights, and refining strategic direction based on data.
  • Supporting campaign and publishing activity, by reviewing digital content, advising on structure and SEO, and contributing to CMS optimisation and campaign integration.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Significant experience in content design, digital content planning, production, and management.
  • Strong technical knowledge across SEO, UX, information architecture, digital copywriting, analytics, and content management systems (including Headless CMS).
  • Proven ability to combine creativity and analysis to develop high-quality, user-centric content that delivers measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders and building trusted partnerships.
  • Well-developed prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to align content initiatives with business and audience value.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Digital Media, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated alignment with organisational values, with strengths in managing ambiguity, focusing on members, and role modelling behaviour-based leadership.

What can we offer you?

  • A workplace culture where our people feel valued, respected and empowered
  • Work in flexible ways that meet work/life commitments and support wellbeing
  • Professional career development and training
  • Free Roadside Assistance and discounts on RAC products and services including Insurance, Holiday Parks and Resorts, Security, Finance and Auto Services
