After Sales Manager - Ground Support Equipment

Our client is a leading international player in the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) rental and maintenance sector. Backed by a powerful investment fund, the group is undergoing a major strategic global expansion phase and is now establishing its new subsidiary in Australia following the award of a nationwide contract. In this context, we are seeking the technical leader who will take operational responsibility for the After Sales and Service department.

Missions

Working in direct collaboration with the European Customer Services Directorate, you will drive the operational and technical deployment across the Australian market. Driven by strong proactivity, you will initially oversee the transition and performance of local maintenance partners, anticipating field requirements and providing advanced mechanical troubleshooting to guarantee seamless service continuity and client satisfaction.

Harnessing your true builder mindset, you will then take full ownership of internalizing the technical department over the medium term. Through your leadership, you will design local operational processes from scratch, organize physical workshops, and spearhead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of your own dedicated internal team. Operating with autonomy, you will make critical, real-time decisions directly on the tarmac to navigate unmapped operational challenges, ensuring the successful establishment of a local entity.

Profile

  • You bring a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical after-sales management or maintenance leadership, ideally within the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) or heavy machinery.
  • You possess a track record of successfully building or developing a technical department, industrial workshop, or operational project.
  • You hold a technical degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering,.
  • You are fully fluent in English to navigate this local and international environment seamlessly. Working knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus to communicate with headquarters.
  • Ideally based in Melbourne or Sydney, your flexibility allows you to travel frequently across national airport hubs.
