Your impact
Jacobs is building one of the leading Earthing & Electromagnetic (EMT) capabilities in the region and we are looking for a dynamic Associate Engineer to join our Earthing and EMT team, who wants to be at the forefront of high-voltage transient analysis. This exciting career growth opportunity offers the chance to join a team that works across multiple technical domains whilst gaining exposure to globally significant projects and emerging energy infrastructure, collaborating with a highly regarded specialised team supported by our highly regarded Section Lead and Technical Director.
We welcome candidates looking to further specialise in EMT, with a solid earthing background and exposure to High Voltage earthing studies.
Key Areas of Focus
- Deliver comprehensive earthing and EMT studies, including earthing and bonding, lightning performance, insulation coordination, EPR, LFI, EMF/EMI, and EMT analysis.
- Lead and contribute to high quality detailed designs and technical deliverables, utilizing industry-standard tools such as CDEGS and PSCAD.
- Support business development initiatives, collaborating with Client Account Managers to build and maintain positive client relationships across public and private sectors.
- Conduct site inspections and testing, including soil resistivity, current injection, and EMF/EMI measurements.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering growth in Jacobs' earthing and electromagnetic study services.

Here's what you'll need
Here's What You'll Need
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Proven experience delivering earthing and EMT studies across various sectors, including substations, transmission, and infrastructure power (e.g., rail, water, mining, airports, or industrial markets) highly regarded
- Proficiency in industry standard software tools such as CDEGS and PSCAD.
- Excellent technical report writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
