About The Role

There is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate with highly motivated looking to kickstart their career in Nuclear Medicine to join the team at Canberra Health Services.

The CHS Nuclear Medicine Department sits within the Medical Imaging Department operating three gamma cameras (a Siemens Intevo Bold xSPECT/CT, Siemens ProSpecta SPECT/CT and Siemens Evo Excel Dual Head) and a full hot lab with weekly Technetium generator delivery and full suite of cold kit reconstitutions. The department also provides a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) service and operates a comprehensive PET/CT facility which incorporates a Siemens Biograph Vision 600 scanner, three uptake rooms, hot lab and an automatic injection system.

Comprehensive refurbishment of the department was completed in 2024, including expansion of the PET/CT service to include Gallium 68 generator offering PSMA and DOTATATE scanning. The service is expected to expand on capability to lead and participate in research projects.

Work in the department is both challenging and rewarding, with a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures being offered including paediatric, oncology and cardiac studies and diagnostic CT with/without contrast as required.

This position will suit an enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Technologist with ability to develop and promote standards in a professional team. The successful applicant will be required to work across all areas of the Nuclear Medicine and PET Department, including BMD and Diagnostic CT.

Students approaching graduation, new graduates and early career technologists are encouraged to apply. Please speak to the contact officer to discuss this opportunity.
