About the role

We are seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Transport Advisory team in Sydney, where you will play an active role in delivering traffic and transport engineering outcomes across a range of development and infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will be responsible for managing defined components of projects while applying sound technical judgement and problem‑solving skills.

You will be involved in preparing traffic assessments, modelling, design inputs and technical reports, while collaborating closely with project teams to meet client and project requirements. This role is well suited to an engineer who is ready to build confidence in project delivery, strengthen their technical capability, and progress their career within a supportive, multidisciplinary consulting environment.

Day to day tasks would involve

  • Preparing traffic engineering inputs including technical calculations, drawings, sketches and reports to support development and infrastructure projects
  • Supporting the preparation of traffic impact assessments, road safety audits, transport studies and related documentation
  • Undertaking site inspections and collecting base data such as traffic counts, parking surveys, road safety observations and access reviews
  • Contributing to the design and review of intersections, access arrangements and parking layouts in line with relevant standards and guidelines
  • Coordinating with project team members to deliver defined components of projects to scope, quality and timeframe requirements
  • Participating in internal project meetings and supporting communication with clients and external stakeholders as required

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in traffic / transport engineering or consulting
  • Experience with traffic modelling and analysis tools (e.g. SIDRA)
  • Experience with drafting and swept path analysis using AutoCAD software
  • Knowledge of AS2890 series
  • Strong written communication and report writing skills
  • A proactive approach and ability to work collaboratively in project teams
