This is a opportunity to join Pilbara Ports as a Marine Pilot at the Port of Dampier, one of Australia’s most operationally diverse and strategically important ports. Dampier offers a challenging and rewarding pilotage environment, with a wide range of vessel types, complex marine interfaces and high?volume bulk export operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient vessel movements while contributing to the continuous improvement of pilotage practices, procedures and safety performance within a world?class port authority.

About You

This role will suit you if you are an experienced Marine Pilot who values operational excellence and takes pride in delivering expert pilotage services in a complex port environment. These newly created roles are critical to keeping the Port of Dampier operating safely, efficiently and to the highest regulatory standard. As an ambassador for the Port, you will work closely with ship masters, support a range of marine activities, and contribute positively to the reputation of Pilbara Ports across the Pilbara. You bring strong ship?handling capability, sound judgement in dynamic conditions, and a collaborative, professional approach that aligns with Pilbara Ports’ values of Safety, Excellence, Teamwork, Integrity and Care.

To be considered, you will have held a STCW II/2 Certificate of Competency – Master (Unlimited) or Chief Mate (Unlimited). Consideration will be given to other mariners holding a recognised Certificate of Competency such as an AMSA domestic qualification; Near Coastal <100 or an AMSA international qualification: Master <500 gross tonnage, also including Royal Australian Navy equivalent experience with relevant ship handling experience and/or knowledge. A strong record of performance in your current role will be essential.

You will also have the right to live and work in Australia and be able to meet all regulatory, medical and licensing requirements of the role. Please also note Fly in Fly Out is only supported from Perth.
