About the role
We’re seeking a Finance Partner – ROAD, D&R to support the General Managers and the Group Executives across the ROAD (Road experience, Operations, Assets) and D&R (Delivery & Risk) portfolios, providing strategic, commercial and operational financial insights to support business decisions.

Day-to-day, you will:
- In conjunction with the business, identify key commercial business improvement initiatives. Ensure these initiatives are developed, shaped and evaluated. Determine priority of initiatives as well as resourcing, support service and funding requirements. Support business in obtaining required approvals, resourcing and funding.
- Assess expenditure (opex, maintenance and capital) and benefit realisation plans and support implementation with project managers and business owners
- Review and challenge the business on key budget assumptions, including adverse operating performance (including intercompany cost allocations), major maintenance (lifecycle model) and capital expenditure, and cash flows/distributions outcomes
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through proactive engagement, manage requests and ensuring requirements are met under the Transurban management agreements and investor agreements
- Continuous Improvement lens applied, including proactively identifying opportunities for standardisation, simplification and digitisation
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- Tertiary accounting, finance or commerce qualifications plus professional accreditation (e.g. CPA, ICA, CFA, Masters of Applied Finance).
- Advanced MS Office skills - Excel
- Budgeting and forecasting skills and the ability to identify and analyse key business drivers
- Ability to critically assess a business initiative and consider Enterprise impacts
- Ability to influence indirect team members to align with portfolio priorities
- Strong numeracy and operational / financial modelling skills
- Exposure to a capital and maintenance project environment
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple portfolios/projects simultaneously
- Ability to influence and advise Senior Management on financial issues and projects
- Finance Partner experience advantageous
