Are you an experienced Building Inspector, Site Supervisor, Construction Professional or Field Technician looking for a role that combines technical expertise, autonomy, and variety?
We are partnering with a well-established and growing consulting business that provides inspection, compliance and technical services to the residential construction sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Field Technician / Level III Inspector to join their team in South Brisbane.
About The Role
This is a field-based position responsible for carrying out compliance inspections across residential construction projects, ensuring building works meet required standards and specifications.
You'll work closely with builders, concreters, site supervisors and internal technical teams while managing your own daily schedule and inspection workload.
The role offers significant autonomy, a supportive team environment, ongoing technical development, and the opportunity to become a recognised subject matter expert within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct residential construction compliance inspections safely and accurately
- Complete footing, slab, frame and other structural inspections
- Assess and document inspection outcomes using industry-specific mobile applications
- Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports
- Provide practical guidance to builders and contractors regarding compliance requirements
- Investigate and identify site, soil and construction-related issues
- Maintain accurate records, photographs and field documentation
- Support quality assurance activities and internal audits
- Provide mentoring and on-site training to junior inspectors where required
- Liaise with clients, builders and stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in building inspections, construction supervision or a related field role
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices
- Experience inspecting slabs, footings, frames and foundations
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications and construction documentation
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Comfortable using mobile technology, inspection software and reporting systems
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence
- Current White Card
Highly Regarded
- Building trade / concreting background
- Experience in residential construction compliance inspections
- Soil investigation or geotechnical exposure
- Building inspection qualifications or industry certifications
- Experience mentoring junior staff
