Achieve Something Great
Campbelltown Hospital is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for positions within both the Emergency Department (ED) and the Emergency Short Stay Unit (ESSU).
Whether you are looking to build a career in Emergency Nursing or are interested in the fast-paced, patient-flow focused environment of ESSU, we have opportunities to suit a range of clinical interests and experience levels.
We are also seeking nurses with existing emergency nursing skills and experience who are interested in accelerated progression opportunities in areas such as triage, resuscitation, paediatrics, patient flow, and clinical leadership.
Campbelltown Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is one of the busiest and most diverse in the region, providing care across the full spectrum of emergency presentations including paediatrics, mental health, trauma, aged care, and acute medical and surgical emergencies. The department features a Children’s Emergency Department, Children’s Short Stay Unit (CSSU), Fast Track, Acute Care Pod, Mental Health Pod, Aged Care Pod, a 5‑Bed Resuscitation Area, and the Emergency Short Stay Unit (ESSU). ED Registered Nurses have the opportunity to develop advanced skills in assessment, resuscitation, triage, paediatrics and leadership, while working within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team.
ESSU is ideal for nurses who enjoy rapid assessment, coordinating multidisciplinary care, patient flow and access management, clinical decision-making and delivering timely care that positively impacts overall ED flow. ESSU nurses work closely with the ED to manage patients requiring short‑term observation, treatment, and ongoing review, offering a unique opportunity to develop expertise in patient flow, navigation, and short‑stay management while remaining an integral part of the broader Emergency Department team.
Why Join Campbelltown ED and ESSU?
- Career development pathways — structured emergency nursing induction, accelerated progression for emergency‑skilled nurses, CNS development, and opportunities across triage, resuscitation, paediatrics, ESSU navigation, patient flow, leadership, and both Campbelltown & Camden EDs.
