SafeWork NSW is the state's workplace health and safety regulator. Our mission is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring workplaces comply with health and safety laws. We achieve this through a mix of responsive and proactive programs targeting high-risk areas across all industries, aligned with our strategic plan and regulatory priorities.
SafeWork NSW is seeking a proactive risk and business resilience advisor to develop and implement risk management, compliance, and resilience strategies, tools, and related core processes across the regulator. You'll play a pivotal role in driving an enhanced risk mitigation, compliance, and business resilience activities (e.g. business continuity management). These efforts will ultimately uplift organisational maturity and strengthening organisational capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and develop frameworks, policies, procedures and standards to improve the effectiveness of risk management, compliance, and business continuity activities across the regulator.
- Provide advice and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and build organisational capability in risk management, compliance, governance, and business continuity.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support alignment with strategic objectives.
- Identify and assess risks and opportunities day to day to support proactive management and mitigation of risks.
- Develop and implement reporting tools and processes to accurately record and communicate risk information.
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure understanding of obligations and support informed decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, business resilience and internal compliance strategies to ensure timely completion of reviews and controls.
- Provide technical and general advice on risk and issues management to support best-practice.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Demonstrated experience in organisational and operational risk management, business resilience and compliance within complex, multistakeholder environments.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and compliance frameworks, tools and controls
- Experience designing and maintaining risk reporting mechanisms and dashboards that drive decision making.
- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders, facilitating consultation and alignment to organisational strategy.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear, evidence based recommendations.
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, business, public administration or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
