Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is a prominent, high-growth retail business based in the Inner West, known for its strong brand presence and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

With an expanding footprint and a fast-paced operational environment, the business is currently scaling its finance function to support its ongoing success. This position sits at the heart of the finance team, offering a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a pivotal role in the company's continued growth. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and leadership team, gaining deep exposure to the commercial drivers of a retail business while managing core financial functions.

This is a hands-on, broad-reaching role ideal for a technical professional looking to apply their skills in a dynamic retail setting, streamline processes, and influence decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage end-to-end month-end financial reporting, statutory compliance, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Partner directly with department heads and operational managers to deliver robust commercial insights and monitor store-level performance.
• Communicate complex technical accounting matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business.
• Leverage financial data to identify sales trends, manage inventory reporting, and support business-critical decision-making.
• Play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives across core accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Collaborate closely with a tight-knit finance team within a high-performing retail business.

What We Are Looking For

• CA or CPA qualified, ideally making a first or second career move from a Big 4 or Mid-Tier chartered firm.
• Strong foundation in corporate reporting, general ledger management, and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently converse with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
